A comparatively uneventful month culminated wonderfully about a week and a half ago. After nearly two full months in a Travelodge, I moved into a wonderful new dorm that has pretty much made everything way better forever. I honestly dont know how I did if for so long in hindsight, and while there have been growing pains here in Holyrood South for sure, the increase in quality-of-life is near incalculable.

The Good Art
As previously prophesized, I went to the Scotland National Galleries this past weekend. In addition to their permanent collection, there was an exhibit on contemporary Scottish art of the past 25 years and let me tell you that the whole experience was Very Good. Not only was the contemporary art cool and thought provoking, but the classical art in the main building was Exceedingly Ridiculous (of course in addition to also being awe-inspiring etc.).

3D Print workshop
Today I had the privilege of learning about 3D printing. It was a cool time spanning almost the entire day, and I am quite looking forward to the follow up workshops.
Some really basic 3d modelling software was introduced in the morning, a browser based application called Tinkercad (which can be played with by viewers like you). It was incredibly simple, but easy to use and good to get the point across. That was then translated into files readable by printers, and we learned about designing printable structure and support materials and applications of 3d printers.

St. Andrews
Things have been going along business as usual around here. As obstacles continue to arise, I'm getting more and more excited about really getting into the meat of my program. The latest obstacle I've encountered has again come from housing. It looks like not only has my move in date been bumped back to October 10th, but I have to move *again* in a couple of days to a //different// Travelodge.
Needless to say, this is not ideal. But to help ease the transition, I treated myself to Shovel Knight and the new Zelda game, along with a nice day trip to St. Andrew's.

First Week
The first week is well underway, and while it is ever-exciting, it isn't without headache.

casual chats
sometimes you need to furiously exaggerate when talking to friends. although I would seriously call myself a "horrid internet parasite," but that's not specific to this situation.

1st Weekend
“Woah, Pat, what the fudge is wrong with you, huh? You
literally just posted something,” you must be thinking, hitting your monitor
furiously, shaking hard enough to spill coffee all over your white pants, “this
is bullsh#t.”
And you would be right, on all accounts.
But despite that, here’s what’s been happening.
Welcome!
Hello, friend. First: Some facts.
I'm a student. A master's student. Which is weird.
I am studying in a country that is different from my own.
